What is a predatory journal?

The term "Predatory Journal" was coined by Jeffrey Beall. It refers to journals that attract researchers with promises of rapid publication, but lack proper peer review or editorial standards and charge high publication fees for profit. When authors discover problems and attempt to withdraw their manuscripts, they often face substantial fees, which may result in financial loss and, in serious cases, damage to their reputation.Journals published by such publishers that lack academic integrity are known as predatory journals.
