| Announcement : Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault |
- 1. No one may sexually harass or sexually assault another person.
- 2. A person who sexually harasses another may be fined between NT$10,000 and NT$100,000 in accordance with the law; if the harassment is committed by taking advantage of authority or opportunity, the fine may be increased by one-half. Acts such as groping another person’s chest or buttocks, or touching another person’s private parts, may be subject to criminal prosecution by the victim, with penalties of up to 2 years’ imprisonment, detention, or a fine of up to NT$100,000, or both. A person who sexually assaults another shall be punished in accordance with the Criminal Code, with the maximum penalty being death, life imprisonment, or imprisonment for more than 10 years.
- 3.In addition to bearing criminal and civil liability under the law, anyone who sexually harasses or sexually assaults another person will also be subject to disciplinary action by this unit in accordance with internal regulations.
- 4. In the event of a sexual assault incident, please call 110 or the 113 Protection Hotline for assistance.
- If a sexual harassment or sexual assault incident is discovered in this library and immediate assistance from this unit is required, please report it immediately to the 1F Reference Desk.
