Document Delivery

★The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system allows users to borrow books or request copies of journal articles, theses, and other materials from partner libraries through established agreements.Please be sure to follow intellectual property laws when using this service.

★This service is exclusively available to current faculty, staff, students。Alumni who wish to use interlibrary loan services must first apply for an alumni library card at the library's circulation desk.

About the Service

  • Photocopies of journal articles, conference proceedings, book chapters, research papers, and theses in Chinese, Western, Japanese, or Korean languages.
  • Interlibrary book loans  you can search for books through the National Bibliographic Information Network.

How to Make a Reques?

  • Search for the item using the National Bibliographic Information Network or the Union List of Serials.
  • Submit your request through the NDDS website. If you're a first-time user, you'll need to create an account, which usually takes 1–2 days to activate.
  • Check your email for a confirmation once your account is activated.
  • Pick up your item at the reference desk on the 1st floor after you receive the notification email.

Processing Time

  • The process typically takes one to five business days, depending on the location of the material and the response time of the supplying library or provider.

Fees and Charges

  • The cost varies depending on the library providing the item. For journal articles, the fee is usually around NT$ 2–5 per page.

How to Make a Reques?

  • Please verify that the article is not available in any of the NCHU libraries by first consulting the NCHU Library Catalogue.
  • Log in to RapidILL and complete the request form by providing the full journal title (without abbreviations), publication year, volume number, page numbers, ISSN, and other required details.
  • Upon receiving an email notification confirming the arrival of the requested items, please collect them at the reference desk on the first floor.

Important Information

  • Rapidill@NCHU is a service for requesting Western journal articles that are not available in the NCHU library collections.
  • You may search for journal ISSNs through the Library of Congress Online Catalog or the Union List of Serials.
  • The required fields in the application include the ISSN, publication year, and volume number. If a journal does not have an ISSN, its articles cannot be obtained via RapidILL. In such cases, the NDDS service is recommended.

Processing Time

    • Journal articles are generally delivered within seven business days (with a minimum of 24 hours). However, the actual delivery time may vary depending on the location of the material and the response time of the supplying library or service provider.
    • If the requested article has not been received within three business days, you are encouraged to contact the library to inquire about the status of your request.

    Fees and Charges

      • The fee for articles provided through the RapidILL Service is NT$ 3 per page.
      • The RapidILL Service is offered free of charge for journals that have been discontinued by the NCHU Western Journal Committee.
