Turnitin is an application of over 99 billion public web pages, 1.8 billion student papers, and over 89 million scholarly journals and articles.
Turnitin can:
- Compare faculty and student works/reports/assignments with the system database.
- Provide a similarity score (the percent found in the database) and generate a comparison report.
- Allow authors to verify content quality before publishing.
- Check for any missing citations in the reference pages.
Accepted File Formats
- PDF (not encrypted, text selectable, not directly converted from Mac)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WordPerfect, RTF, OpenOffice (ODT), Hangul (HWP), Google Docs, Plain Text (TXT)
- PostScript, HTML
File Upload Restrictions
- The file size must be less than 100 MB. If the file exceeds 100 MB, it is recommended to: (1) reduce image sizes or remove images; (2) save the PDF as a plain text file.
- Maximum of 800 pages per document.
- Document content must exceed 20 characters.
