Description:
In collaboration with the National Security Archive, ProQuest presents the Digital National Security Archive (DNSA). This database covers declassified documents on U.S. foreign and national security policy decisions from 1945 (post-World War II) to 2016. It provides access to over 150,000 declassified records totaling more than 875,000 pages, many of which are being made public for the first time. The DNSA is an unparalleled resource for exploring decisive strategies in modern international affairs.
The database comprises 63 thematic collections, each focused on a specific topic. Examples include "China and the U.S.: From Hostility to Engagement, 1960–1990" and "The Kissinger Transcripts: A Verbatim Record of U.S. Diplomacy, 1969–1977". Each collection contains a variety of government documents, presidential directives, memoranda, diplomatic appointments, meeting records, independent reports, briefings, White House communications, emails, confidential letters, and classified files. In addition, each module includes expert-written introductory essays, timelines, and glossaries to aid in understanding the content.
