Each user is responsible for complying with the copyrights and related regulations when use e-resources. Violating to do so may result in loss of access to a resource for the entire university community. Electronic or printed copies are permitted, only when such copies are for personal use of authorized users. Commercial distribution, re-distribution and massive photocopies are strictly prohibited.

Use Journal Citation Reports (JCR)
1. Find Journal Enter a journal's name, ISSN or eISSN, category or a keyword, or either use "Browse Journal" or "Browse Category" to find specific journal.
2. Find the Journal Impact Factor and Ranking information On the ""Journal Profile"" page, please scroll down, you will see the report of the journal by year, includes Journal impact factor, journal citation indicator, total citations."

Our staff are dedicated to making books ordered for the Library available as soon as possible. A number of factors, however, may influence the time it takes to get a book to the Library stack. In some cases, when a book is temporarily unavailable or out of print, it may be difficult to figure out its estimated time of arrival. In general, books on a domestic order are approximately delivered within 1 month. It may take 1-3 months, on the other hand, for west-language books to arrive due to overseas shipping.

To begin with, please navigate to the Library website. From the main menu bar, click "Purchase Request" under the "Services" heading and then login to our Recommendation System with your NCHU single-sign-on username & password. Once you have completed your request form and click "submit," your application will be automatically sent to the Library for review. You may check your application status at any time by logging into this system as well.

The Library welcomes book donations but cannot accept everything. To enable the Library to evaluate the suitability of the donations, please complete the Book Donation Form with an accompanying title list, and then submit via email (chiacq@nchu.edu.tw) to the Library. You can also print them out and submit them to the front desk staff at our library.

In response to a NCHU school directive aimed at saving energy, the Library maintains a temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. The temperature maybe vary slightly for location or individual differences. If you feel hot in the Library, you are welcome to inform our librarian.

The Library cannot guarantee every suggested item will be purchased. We primarily purchase resources to support research, teaching and learning at the University and offer general interest and leisure materials in our collection as well. Purchasing decisions are guided by the NCHU Library Collection Development Policy. Factors considered in the selection of materials include the relevance to the curriculum, the cost of the item, number of copies available in the library, and the availability of funds, etc. If you have any further question about our selection criteria, please feel free to contact us.

We were sorry for the noise that bothering you. For campus space outside the library is managed by the school, we always notice the school not to hold lively or noisy activities around library in order to maintain the reading quality. However, when the school needs the space to hold large-scale activities, it is inevitable that there would be sound disturbance.

If the theses & dissertations have been approved, please download and fill in "Application for Thesis/Dissertation Modification" form and hand it in to circulation desk in Library 1F along with your revised thesis in person. Please make an appointment by email before 3 working days.

If you have an urgent need for an item which has a status of "ORDER RECEIVED" or "ON CATALOGING," you may submit a request for Rush Cataloging to the Library. To start with, please navigate to the Library website. From the main menu bar, click "Rush Cataloging Request" under the "Services" heading and then you will be able to place a Rush Cataloging request online. Once we receive your request for rush processing, we will get your requested items ready for checkout ASAP and place them on hold for you as well. Please note, however, if there are other hold requests before your submission, the hold requests will be fulfilled by the order in which they were created.

For the execute and manage consideration, the vacuum cleaner work is arranged once a week on weekdays, and each floor should be arranged on different days as far as possible. It is sorry for the noise that bothering you and recommended you may move to other floors.

The air-conditioning system in this building is a central air-conditioning system. And the Library maintains a temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. When the room temperature is below 28°C, the air-conditioning will perform "supply air" and keep proportional outside air to exchange for IAQ rules. That's the reason why you feel cold indoor.

The normal processing time for a Rush Cataloging request is 3- 5 workdays. You will be notified via email when it is available.

Please use a valid library ID card (e.g. Staff or student ID card) and insert it into the card reader on the desk in Information Retrieval Area on 1F. Then you can use each PC for maximum of 2 hours.

Your RapidILL System ID and password are the same as NCHU Single Sign On System. If you forgot your password, please go to NCHU Single Sign On System and click "forget" button to reset a new password.

If the book you are interested in checking out has been found lost or damaged, please feel free to summit a purchase request to the Library. We will consider your suggestion for purchase depending on our budget, the availability of the items, etc. Please note that out-of-print books are usually hard to get. In most cases, we will not order a replacement copy when the book is out of print.

1. Except the study room in the basement and the multimedia center on the third floor, the visitors at or over the age of 18 can exchange for a temporary visitor card with his/her ID card, driver's license, to enter the library.
2. If the school temporarily prohibits people from entering the school or the library, please follow the rules.

Please contact the instructor who created assignments for you to check the Turnitin assignment settings options. The ‘store paper in repository’ option should be switched off, so that it does not show any match no matter how many times you submit it.
And a request will be sent to the Turnitin administrator from your instructor. Turnitin administrator will then review the request and approve it if they agree the paper should be deleted.

1. Except for the research rooms, each study room is set a departure time. If you leave for 15 minutes exceeding the departure time, the system will automatically release the room. Leaving directly will also be logged out.
2. The system will release the room 15 minutes after withdrawal of your student ID card. After leaving, you are not able to access the room by tapping the card even though it is within the reservation time.

In the discussion room or study consulting room, the registration can be completed and the door can be unlocked only after the 3 people who have booked tap their cards in order.

In order to make it easier for readers not to commute from home to library for returning books during winter/summer vacation, the library has extended the loan period. The start and end dates of the loan period differ between ordinary books and reserved books. Readers are not required to return both types of books to the library during the holidays.

1. How to request: Readers are able to search for the checked-out books at "Collection Catalog" and make a request online. We'll inform you to pick up the books once the item is returned to the library. The materials will be kept at the library for 5 days and will be put on the shelves, or the next reader who has reserved the materials will be notified of borrowing from the sixth day.
2. Cancel a request: To cancel the request, log in your library account. Next, cancel by clicking the ""Delete"" button. This function is batch processing, so it will not be cancelled immediately from time to time. Please wait for the next day after 12:00 P.M. and log in again to see whether the book has been cancelled, if not, please contact the library to cancel the book reservation.
3. The library will notify the readers via E-mail upon the arrival of reserved books. The books will be kept for five days and will be put on the shelves, or the next reader who has reserved the item will be notified to come from the sixth day.

You can return books by the book return box located at the east door of the library (near the ATM of the post office) without entering the library. The return date will be one service day before you return. If the books are placed into the box before the due date, it will not be considered overdue.

1. NCHU Library is an institutional subscriber of "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America" (PNAS). PNAS supports Open Access policy, as long as it is submitted by corresponding author of the subscribed institution. Once the journal is published and authorized to open access (Open Access), whom may receives a discounted price for article processing. For more details, please refer to the PNAS official website.
2. The library has introduced the "IEEE Database Open Access (OA) Submission System" for our school staff and students, which provide 20% discount on the article processing fee if your manuscripts are published. When applying for a discount, you need to fill in the school's ID 34916 to pass the certification. Validity period from October 5, 2020 to the present, for more details about OA, welcome to link the OA website.

All of NCHU journal collections are not for circulation. There are scanner and printer in library for users to make DIY copies, please mention of the scope of fair use of a work.

To find journals, please go to "NCHU library WebPAC" page, you will see a periodical's location, either in the library building or electronically. If there's no results, which means we have no holdings in library. By then you can use our ILL service.

You can renew items online prior to the due date. To renew items online, log onto NCHU Library WebPAC (the “login” button can be found at the top-right corner of the library website) and click on the “My Account/Renew” tab. please refer to our website.

If you are looking for an item and you see "In bindery"" link, it means the item you want is unavailable due to internal processes. Binding process requires about 50 days, you can submit your request on 1F References Desk.
